As you will know the new laws concerning how companies handle client data came into effect on 25th May 2018.

As the owners of Pippin Cottage, we would like to assure our past, present and future guests that we are committed as a business to ensure that your privacy is protected. Will will never sell your email address/phone numbers on to a third party and we do not currently send out marketing emails. If we decide to start sending out an occasional newsletter in the future then we will let you know and make it easy to opt out if you would prefer.

Pippin Cottage Privacy Policy

Pippin Cottage is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This Privacy Policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and the procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

1. The information we collect and how we use it

When you enquire about our accommodation or request general information, we need to know your name and other information to correspond with you. This includes your e-mail address and sometimes a telephone number.

If you make a booking directly with us, we ask for a bank transfer and only request your bank details in order to transfer back your damage deposit, we do sometimes receive cheques so this is passed onto the bank. We do not store your bank information in anyway for any other use and is only used by Barclays Bank for transfer/deposit purposes. On occasions, we may need to pass your name and mobile number onto our cleaner if she needs to liaise with you with regards to a mid week change over (this is if you are staying for longer than a week), or indeed if there is an emergency and we need our builder/plumber/electrician to liaise with you directly with regards to accessing the property whilst you are there. We would always let you know prior to us doing so.

2. How we protect your information

All your information is stored on our own private Apple Mac computer which has log in passwords, Firewalls are used to block unauthorised traffic.

3. Your consent

By submitting your information you give your consent to the use of that information as set out in this Privacy Policy. If we change our Privacy Policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of the web site, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. We will also e-mail you should we make any changes so that you may consent to our use of your information in that way. Continued use of this website will signify that you agree to any such changes. Because the Internet infrastructure is global, the information you provide may be transferred outside the European Union. However, we will continue to abide by and apply the data protection and data security laws and principles as set out by the European Union.
